XINJIANG: RADIO
The shows below were originally live-mixed 2 hour webcasts on s&S web radio put together on the fly on my then weekly radio show in early 2006. They exclusively featured recordings of sounds and music I’d gathered in Xinjiang a few years earlier in 2003, including field-recorded folk music, environmental sounds, shortwave radio as well as a few tracks from cassettes and VCD’s I’d picked up in the area. More info, playlists, etc can be accessed via the individual show pages. * These can also be found in the s&S show archive.
- Music Furthest from the Sea (show) : an ongoing collection of primarily Xinjiang Music – with the occasional appearance of other related Central Asian tunes… streaming or downloadable as half hour podcasts.

I love this — being able to listen to sounds from Xinjiang online is wonderful. Keep up the good work.

hi,
I think the link of the “Music Furthest from the Sea” is wrong:
http://http//compound-eye.org/rogc/xinjiang/xj-radio/mffts-mixes/
It should be:
