I love your radio stream… I finally got it to work with linux… still, though…
I honestly think that part of the majesty is lost when random clips are thrown together.
Whether intentional or not, the duration of many of your performances constituted a whole and cutting them, only harms them, unlike holograms.

Señor Sigh -
Thank you for the comment.
I’m happy that you’d choose to use the word ‘majesty’ when referring to the recordings of live shows. I’m honored and humbled that you’d think so.
Originally, the s&S stream (the 24/7 stuff) was simply a place to put the highlights and clips from past live shows on constant rotation so that notable moments from otherwise unremarkable shows could at least get heard, rather than just sit on tapes & CDRs collecting dust. Eventually, we added lots of music and many various types of recordings to flesh out the listening experience into something less commital than a full fledged ‘show’ that you could just have on to accompany your day or night.
In it’s random form, surely the specific threads are lost from the live shows, I agree, but I don’t know if I’d go so far as to use the word ‘hurt’. To me they’re like old friends making cameos in a constantly rolling variety show.
In the same way you’d hear a track that you quite like on ‘real radio’, you’re perfectly welcome to pick up the album somehow. And as you know, in as many cases as I’ve been able, the shows that the clips represent are available in their entirety from the Archive – FREE! with more to come!
A stream of constantly revolving shuffle playing files produces contexts that are at best impossibly perfect serendipitous moments, and at worst, a couple of oddly juxtaposed tracks that didn’t really fly together. When curating and extracting clips to include in the rotation, I do pay attention to the lead-outs of tracks to provide something that will likely produce an interesting combination with the next track when shuffled. Yeah, sometimes it doesn’t work. That’s what you get when the super-computer’s in charge of the order.
This is a hobby site, all said and told, self and donation funded – remotely run by your host currently situated far, deep in the west side of the PRC. If I could live by it, there’d be the time and wherewithal to keep the stream moving and evolving in bigger steps.
Anyway, thanks for the comment and thoughts. It’s great to hear a little thoughtful fan feedback every now and again!
