On The Air! s&S 6.0!

Okay listeners, the s&S radio stream has now been fired up !

you can tune in
HERE

Please NOTE: The interns will be conducting a bit of blind maintenance over the next week or so, so the stream server may be down for short periods of time while digital house-cleaning is done.

Also, there is at the moment no dynamic playlist window on the website to tell you what’s been streaming. That’s a puzzle to solve and hopefully that can be operational in some form very soon. Apologies, but we figure re-assembling and offering in stages is better than not sharing anything at all until we’re done, right? You can still rely on your player to tell you wha’s currently playing or look at the shoutcast page

Things on the s&S “To-Do” list:

  • a Dynamic Playlist displaying a constantly updated list of the last 10, 20, or 50 tracks played on the stream…just like on the old site. (re-implementing is a little more complicated than it sounds)
  • more additions of past shows to the ARCHIVE
  • more types of content in the ARCHIVE, including compilations and varying material. s of s&S has been recording lots of shortwave radio from home base beta in the PRC that will be cut up into ‘shows’ and made available there.
  • s&S merchandise!! (Did I just type that?) hats, aprons, spatulas, utility belts, phone cards, roach spray, microwave pizzas, papoose bags, etc.

Thank you again for your patience and support, and of course for the periodic checks for signs of life from this little online outpost. We just needed to re-align the radio telescope a bit to again bring you these Broken Bouncing Mixed-Up radio Waves from your Planet.

yours in sound and servitude,
-s&S

(and the WOLF !)

by the way, here’s a real kicker:
Being remotely at the controls here in the PRC, I can’t actually hear or monitor the audio stream thanks to the great f*rewall which for some reason kills incoming shoutcast feeds. I can only contribute, operate the site and UK server..but can’t actually tune in to a PEEP! :( So any reports on stream reception are greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone is out there ripping the thing in continuous hour long chunks or more to carry along in the car and would like to share, please hale via the CONTACT page. I’d be ever so happy about it.
