The thing is, none of us were actually trekkies at all. I'd just found a bunch of shirts at the 'Creative Re-Use Depot' nearby. Dave's pop, the venerable Vinton Cerf was so enthused to have us all put them on and enjoy a Thai take-out dinner that we of course had to oblidge!
